Accident and Medical Clinic Standard - NZS 8151:2004
NZS8151:2004 Accident and Medical Clinic Standards have been developed by an expert committee, sponsored by ACC and facilitated by Standards New Zealand.
These standards concern the provision of Accident and Medical Care from an Accident and Medical Clinic. (Services from other branches of medicine, such as orthopaedic surgery, plastic surgery, general practice, and radiology which may be provided from
Accident and Medical Clinics are outside the scope of these Standards.)

AMPA (Accident and Medical Practitioners' Association)
The Accident and Medical Practitioners' Association is committed to supporting Clinics to meet these standards as they see this process as a way to improve practice, manage safe service delivery and establish a platform for improvement for the future.
AMPA has formed a strategic alliance with the DAA Group Ltd to provide auditing certification to these standards. This has been done to:
* Ensure a professional audit process
* Ensure audits are managed by qualified and experienced auditors with healthcare backgrounds
* Ensure Accident and Medical clinic experts are part of the audit teams
* Develop deeper understanding of the needs of the Clinics by having ongoing involvement in the audits (AMPA Board give final approval for individual Certificates)
* Reduce costs and maximise benefits.
The Certification
* Certification - a three year Certification
* Surveillance - a check at 18 months of parts of the standard to ensure ongoing compliance to the standard.
