Janice's core principle is to work in partnership with her clients and to positively assist
ongoing quality improvement for the organisation.

Originally graduating as a General and Obstetric Registered Nurse some 20 years ago, Janice moved into a management role after many years' of nursing experience in a variety of organisations. It is from her experience within healthcare settings that she became convinced that quality management improves outcomes. Janice's mission statement includes the aim to make a positive impact on the quality services she works with, in honesty and with integrity.

Based in Christchurch, but working nationally and internationally, Janice is a registered Lead Auditor in the Health Sector. Since 1993, almost 200 healthcare provider organisations have been awarded Certification or Accreditation under the audit management of Janice and her colleagues. This has made Janice one of the most experienced Health Auditors and Audit Managers in New Zealand. Experience includes specialist private services, public and private hospitals (medical and surgical), aged care, mental health including alcohol and other drug, accident and medical clinics, home care and disability services.

As the Health and Disability Sector Standards were developed, Janice was involved with:
   * Standards committees for National Mental Health Standard and more recently
      Alcohol and Drug Sector Standards.
   * Jointly managed a group of hospitals through the trial audits to the Health 
      and Disability Sector Standards (2000).
   * Input into the development of audit tools.
   * Was a presenter for Standards NZ and the Ministry of Health on the roadshows
      which traveled around the country to present the new Health and Disability 
      Sector Standards and the National Mental Health Standards.

The 10 years prior to becoming involved with the DAA Group, Janice worked with, and then was contracted to, an external Certification Company for Certification and Accreditation services in New Zealand, Australia and throughout Asia.  Janice has also undertaken contract audits and reviews for the Ministry of Health and ACC.

Janice also provides training through her company Quality Plus Limited.
