Green-arrow Friendly and Supportive Team

All of our auditors have a background in the health industry, with a thorough understanding of the management and staffing issues our clients face on a daily basis.

As a result, they have a reputation for working with clients in a professional yet friendly and supportive manner throughout the entire audit process, rather than simply trying to find fault with your facility.

And wherever possible, they'll also encourage you towards a process of continuous quality improvement in your own organisation - leading to longer and more efficient certification periods for your facility.

Green-arrow How our Auditors can help you

All DAA Group auditors are fully trained and qualified healthcare auditors; many with extensive clinical and management systems experience of their own and with a reputation for being amongst the best in their field.

And even though each auditor operates under the direction and guidance of a client manager, we also ensure that only those auditors with relevant expertise in your particular services and required standards will be allocated to you.

The DAA Group has an existing pool of auditors who currently perform audits under the direction and guidance of DAA Client Managers. The pool includes personnel with extensive clinical and management systems experience. The pool also includes access to technical expertise in standards related to the provision of services, including Maori, consumers and family auditors as appropriate.

Green-arrow By the way - who audits the Auditors?

International Standards of Auditing

To be able to provide our clients with a robust auditing process, our own infrastructures have been developed and maintained since 1992 to meet the best practice ISO 19011 requirements for the auditing of quality systems.

This is the international standard required for auditors and ensures our systems are amongst the highest available worldwide.

All of our auditors have been trained against NZQA Unit Standard 8086.  This ensures they are able to provide a robust and fair audit process.

But of course, we need to maintain these standards, which is why we have achieved accreditation by JASANZ.  We are audited by Jas-anz on a regular basis to ensure our systems remain in place.

To see how the DAA Group maintains the integrity of our auditing services, take a look at the information provided on the JAS-ANZ website under the DAA Group page.

Green-arrow On-going Auditor Training

Despite their level of experience, our auditors maintain their qualifications and experience as part of maintaining their practicing certificate as health professionals.  Most of our auditors work part time in specialist health service areas.

The DAA Group undertake a regular observation and appraisal processes to ensure auditor skills are maintained.  All audits are undertaken under the supervision of a trained and experienced lead auditor.

Additionally we keep abreast of current auditing best practises, as well as reviews of up-to-date Quality and Risk Management Systems.

We meet with our auditors for training as a group at least three times a year to ensure they remain up-to-date with requirements.  Additionally the MoH provide training days that we ensure is passed on to our auditors who do not attend.

We believe this is vital to ensure we can fully support you to develop your own in-house systems and to develop your own process for continual quality improvement.

Green-arrow Kaupapa Maori

The DAA Group has worked with many Maori provider organisations and has extensive experience in meeting their needs and protocols as part of our working relationships.

However, where specific needs are identified within a provider organisation, or for a Maori specific service, our auditor pool includes Maori auditors who are specifically trained to cater for these situations.

Green-arrow Client Confidentiality

The DAA Group has a policy on confidentiality that requires all people involved in audits and evaluations to maintain confidentiality of information gained as part of the evaluation process.

In addition, all auditors and other staff sign a confidentiality agreement which is held on file.  This is monitored as part of our internal quality management system.
